I know today is the 9th of the month and I'm a little late reminding you about this. School and football has kept me BUSY! But we are having fun. Here is a few fun facts for you.
Did you know that the first coupon was issued in 1887 by Coca-Cola for free samples to promote their drink?
C.W. Post distributed coupons worth 1 cent off his Grape Nuts cereal in 1895.
In the 1930’s, because of the depression, everyone was trying to save money in every way. Coupons were a way for Americans to pinch their pennies.
By 1965, half of Americans had used coupons.
1998 America celebrated its 1st National coupon month in September and continues to do so each year.
NOTE: It is prohibited by law to duplicate coupons by a copy machine other than for demonstration or educational purposes.

ReplyDeleteI wanted to inform everyone about a new application that tracks how much you have saved with coupons.
ReplyDeleteThe application allows you to enter your coupon savings (The store, amount saved, and date are entered). You can generate a report from your coupon savings and post it to your Facebook wall or blog. I am an avid coupon user, but I was surprised that in less then 3 months I managed a savings of over $667.60 using coupons. Enough savings for a recent trip to Hawaii!
The application has turned in a competition between my husband and I to see how much we can save using coupons this year. US and Canadian stores are built in but any store is available to be entered.
