Amazon.com has a great Buy 2 Get 1 FREE sale on Hasbro games with FREE Super Saving Shipping on orders over $25. Many are 40 & 50% off.

I loved this deal! My son had a hasbro game on his christmas wish list. At Wal-mart is was $17.99. Last week Target had it on sale for $9.99 but I wasn't able to get to a Target. Amazon's price... $10!

When I seen this deal I immediately checked for the game he wanted. It was there!

So I used my Amazon.com gift cards earned from Swagbucks to get his game plus two others for no money out of my pocket.

I received my order today.

Three more gifts crossed off my list!

Target Clearance Deals

I had to go to the city to find my son a special calculator for math that neither local Wal-Marts had. I stopped into Target to check out their clearance clothing deals.

Hubby was needing more work shorts and I found these on clearance for $5 each. I picked up three pairs.


I love shopping end of season clothing sales. The prices are so cheap I can get 3 or 4 pieces for the price of one. This saves my family so much money shopping like this!

They had a great sale on down alternative comforters and duvet sets for $16 each. I've been wanting to redecorate son's room so I picked up these:

A white down alternative comforter

And a black duvet set to put the down alternative comforter in.

Then I stopped by Wal-Mart on my way home and picked up paint. My goal is to have his room totally repainted, bed frame changed and the bed dressed by the time he gets home. I'm painting the walls grey, the bed will be dressed in the black and accents of red and orange. Wish me luck he likes it!

I also seen a great cd game, Jonas Brothers, on clearance at Wal-Mart for $3. I picked one up for my oldest granddaughter for Christmas. I have a lot more Christmas shopping to do this year with the three new granddaughters in my life. But I'm excited to have girls to buy for for a change!

Shopping the clearance deals takes time and self control due to being in the stores so often. You have to be able to resist other non-necessary purchases.

Now is the time to watch for summer clearance deals on clothes and toys!

My Friday

I've been busy all this week getting kiddos ready for school. Finishing up the school supply shopping. I also did a little clothing shopping. My boys have never really been big on getting a bunch of new clothes before school starts. They usually want to shop in October. So I just bought kiddo three new shirts and three new shorts. He will wear shorts probably up to and possibly into November. We will shop for jeans then. So I now have him ready and I bought my two granddaughters their school supplies. It was easy, and I got most of it from the CVS and Walgreen sales. The rest I picked up dirt cheap from Wal-Mart.

Tuesday I went to Hyvee and picked up a few things. I wanted the Backpack and lunch box deal. The Hyvee I went to had neither. They gave me rain checks and told me to check back today. When I called they still didn't have them. So I started calling around. Found both at the Lees Summit store.

I went and picked them up along with several Friday 13th sale items. Prices after using my coupons: Skippy Peanut Butter $.49, Miracle Whip $1.38, Sunbelt Granola bars $.67, Pepsi $.69, Kraft Salad Dressing $.88, Prego Spag Sauce $.49.

Then I came home and did this:



Yep, 7 more pints of salsa. I finally was done at 8pm. See that white film on my lids. I'm guessing it is due to our hard water. Maybe a calcium deposit? Can anyone tell me what I can do to keep it from doing this? Can I add something to my water in my canner? I never had this problem where I used to live.

I still needed to do more relish, so guess what I'll be doing here in about 7 hours, once I finally go to bed? You guessed it! Canning relish. I also need to get out to the garden.... I'm sure there is more waiting.

I started out with NO register rewards.

School's out and I'm trying to adjust to having kiddo home with me. The real trick is to figure out how to keep a 12 year old boy occupied and interested in anything. lol

He keeps telling me "It's my summer break, I don't want to do anything!" Makes it hard when I have a lot of deals to chase!

But I was able to get him to go with me a few times.

He was amazed when we went to Walmart yesterday and the cashier told me my total was $77.59. I handed her my 43 coupons and after what seemed like foreva! She announced my total was $23.80. That's approximately a 70% savings! Here's what we "stole". lol

Today the only thing he said was "Have a nice day" after the cashier and I was done. lol

Walgreens Cheap Hasbro Card Games

There are several printable coupons on my coupon widget in the sidebar for Hasbro games. These card games can be found at Wal-Mart, Target and Walgreens.

The price for them at my Walgreens is $6.49. I'll be purchasing a few of them and pay the difference with Register Rewards making them FREE for me. These will come in handy for a small Valentine gift for my son, Easter gifts and Christmas stocking stuffers next year.

Back To School Shopping

I've been busy this summer and it's half over. BoyWonder will be going back to school August 20. I was able to snag some of his school supplies from CVS this week and will be checking them out for next week also.

Bargains of the Week!

I've been busy shopping and not just for groceries.....

Today at Price Chopper I scored 8 buckets/tubs (what would you call it any ways?) of shortening for .79 a piece from the clearance bin! They don't expire until April 2010. They are an off brand like Shurfine but hey! I'm not going to complain since even an off brand around here is over $3.00. I never get any good coupons for name brands such as Crisco, do you?

I've been really bummed out because our sofa has just all of a sudden started falling apart. One arm had a quarter size hole in it that grew to the size of a saucer in what seemed like over-night.

I've been searching around at flea markets, thrift stores and derailed commodities for a new one for a couple of months now. I was hoping to find something to go with what furniture we already had and what color the carpet and walls were. This hasnt been easy even though my walls and carpet are shades of coffee (with cream please! hehe). But persistence paid off.

Last Wednesday I found this like new couch at a thrift store. They had just put it out on the floor and it wasnt even priced yet. (Nope, I already had the poodle. She's such a camera whore!)

I checked it out thoroughly and found that one of the back cushions had tore away from the back of the couch. I approached the manager and asked how much she wanted it for. She told me she would have it marked. A few minutes later her and another lady came over with their price gun and marked it at $59.99. It was the highest price in the store I had ever seen on a couch (even the ones that look brand new) and said sweetly, "$59.99? It's tore and I will have to have it repaired." The manager asked me where it was tore and I showed her. She said "Ok, how is $34.99?" I told her I would take it! My mother bout fell over and after the two employees walked off she said "You should be ashamed of yourself! You stole that couch!" haha

I told her I was planning on "stealing" a camera real soon to replace mine that decided to die last week. I cannot live with out a camera. Take the cell phone, take the tv... take anything but my laptop and camera!

Well Saturday morning I was checking on Craigslist to see if anyone had listed the camera I had decided I wanted. A Kodak 1012IS! It sells at Wal-Mart for $289.99. Sure enough a guy about 45 miles away from me listed one for $125.00.

I was so excited I about peed my pants. Hubby and I loaded up and met the guy and his wife. The camera was in great shape except there was no manual, strap or batteries. Hubby asked him if he would take $100 for it and flashed him the $100 bill. SOLD! As you can see from the washed out pics, I'm still learning how to use it. :)

I'm still on the hunt for a rotisserie so I can cook whole chickens on my deck! Been looking for 4 months, keep your fingers crossed for me one comes up soon. It's too hot to turn my oven on!

After Christmas Sales

I went out today to get my Kansas City Star newspapers and to see what CVS & Walgreens had on sale.

I got my FREE newspapers! I picked up 10 papers at $1.50 each from 2 different Walgreen stores and used my Walgreen rebate gift cards to pay for them. Although I only took 5 from each store, both had TONS of papers! The rack was full and they had stacked about 20 papers in two separate stacks on the floor in front of the racks.

At CVS I picked up the 24 roll Cottonelle deal and used a $4 expiring ECB. $12.97 minus the $4 ecb, my OOP (before tax) was $8.97 and then I received another $4 ecb back. I think I may have had a coupon I could use but was in a hurry.




At Walgreens I picked up several things discounted. Oven mitts and cookie cutters will make up the "cookie mix in a mitt" gifts for next year. I bought one more box of Christmas cards, a bag of 50 bows for .83, a couple candles for .75 each, and several small tin candles for .25 each along with some other items. My actual out of pocket for all items excluding the Cottenelle toilet paper was less than $10.

Price Chopper & CVS Shopping

Price Chopper had Farmland sausage links on sale B1G1 Free. I picked up 10 packages at $2.49 each. I used the last of my 5 $1 off 2 coupons that were to expire 12/31/08. Total $7.45 for 10 packages!

I had been getting 10 packages for $4.90. They would go on sale for .99 and the coupons in the past had been .50 off 1, making them .49 each. But I went ahead and did this deal since the coupons were about to expire and I only had 2 packages left. Hopefully it will go back on sale for .99 each and new coupons will come out again.


The taco seasoning was on sale for .76 and the bananas were .79 a pound. I had a coupon for a FREE box of the Kashi Soft Breakfast bars ($3.89). So my oop on this order was a total of $11.88. Not bad, but could have been better.


I went over to CVS and did the Olay Regenerist deal. (Thanks Precious, Frugalsuz and everyone else who posted this deal.) I bought the 5oz tubes (I was surprised at how big the tubes were!) of the Daily regenerating cleanser that was on sale B1G1 for 50% off. The tubes were $7.49 each, total was $11.23 minus the $5 manuf coupon found in the December 14 P&G insert on the very back page. (I looked and looked and looked and finally realized I wasnt looking on the back page! Whalaa! There it was. I can be so brain dead at times!)

Total was $6.32 and I paid using one $5 ECB, so my OOP was $1.32 for the two tubes.
