Seriously?

Not just Wonder either. All bread was this price or higher.

  1. I don't bother buying bread anymore - just make fresh every time we feel like eating it, which is rare enough. It's just not worth the price they're charging and if the trends continue it's only going to get worse - for all food, which is a good reason to grow your own.

    1. I told hubby today, it's time to plug the bread machine in again. The price is ridiculous.

  2. I make my own for just this reason. A question for you. I buy unbleached flour, yet it is white, just like the bleached stuff. Any idea how they accomplish this?

  3. We've slowed down on eating bread. Mostly, we only serve it to the kids. And just like your Friends before me, we started to make our own too. I think it's a trend!

  4. I make a lot of our bread here at home, but sometimes other things come up and don't get around to it.

Where was this? I'm sure I can get it cheaper at Price Chopper and MUCH cheaper at Aldi. Of course, it would be store brand at either place, not Wonder.

  5. That's crazy! I make most of ours, but if I do pick it up it's at Aldi usually or I look for deals like buy one get one free. That is really high for bread!

    Have a great week.

    1. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that price is outrageous. I will be making bread for a while.

  6. Food prices are getting ridiculous. And if the price doesn't go up, it's because the size went down!

  7. I like to go to their outlet stores. The bread is cheap, and it won't mold if you freeze it!

    1. I used to go to the outlet store but it either closed or moved. There is another one close by, but I never liked it as much.

  8. I'm sorry but that is not bread, it is white foam that rats will eat as a last resort in a landfill. But you are right food is out the roof. So glad I can bake bread.

  9. Hi Lisa:

I agree with the previous commenter. The bread you bake yourself will be much more nutritious than any Wonder bread! It takes more work, but the taste and quality is unbeatable :-).

Thank you so much for becoming a follower of my blog. I'm browsing through yours and I see you have lots of great frugal tips!

    1. Brenda I need to just work it into my schedule on Saturday. Working full time away from my home with a long commute (which I am not used to) has really thrown me off this last year.
