Is it wrong that I

want to sleep on the couch, away from my loving hubby, so I can actually get some good quality sleep?

Since he has started his new job, getting up at 4:15 in the morning and all his TOSSING AND TURNING, I'm not getting very much sleep.

I'm a grumpy butt without my sleep. My daily naps do help, but I'm starting to really drag.

  1. Hi Lisa,

No, it's not wrong! Do whatever you have to to be refreshed for your day. Sometimes DH snores so loudly that I move to one of the spare rooms so I can get some sleep that night.

  4. Aww, poor thing! No, I don't think its wrong at all. Hopefully he'll settle into his new routine soon and start sleeping better, so you can start getting your Z's too.

  5. Nope, not wrong at all. you can't function properly if you don't get rest and it's for his own benefits that you do rest as I'm sure he doesn't want you to be cranky when he gets home :)

  6. I agree with everyone else. Honestly, if we had room, I'd love to have my own bedroom.

I'm not sure why we've all come to equate sleeping with our spouses (as in, actually trying to sleep in the same bed) with a good or successful marriage. Especially after so many of us (or our parents) made sure we had our own bed, if not our own room, when we were growing up.

Sleep's too important...I say do what you gotta do!

  7. No it isnt wrong at all. Occasionally I just want to sleep by myself also. Since its been snowing and the weather has turned cold my DH wants DD to sleep in bed with us "just in case she gets chilly" so im ready to buy my own bed lol

  8. chicagolandia sometimes I feel like I'm being selfish because I want my sleep.

frugalsuz I'm so hoping he gets in his groove real soon!

jenny you're right, he does not want me cranky when he comes home for sure!

annie My mothers parents didnt sleep in the same room in their later years, grandpa snored. My hubbies grandparents didnt sleep in the same room in their later years, he was a toss and turner, up and down all night. My hubbies parents didnt sleep in the same room, he is a light sleeper and she was a snorer. So I guess it's been all around us all our lives. Things will get better, I'm sure of it.
