Wal-Mart worker dies after crowd rushes store

NEW YORK - A Wal-Mart worker has died after being trampled by a throng of unruly shoppers shortly after the Long Island store opened Friday, police said. Unconfirmed reports said a pregnant woman also miscarried as the crowd rushed in.

My heart goes out to their families and they are in my prayers.

  3. I read this this morning before we ventured out for a couple of quick errands. I can't believe that someone could be knocked to the floor and be gasping for air and ignorant people would just trample over him. What is this world coming to? My son says with today's surveilance cameras, they should have locked the store down and arrested the people responsible. I wonder if they did arrest anyone?

  5. Oh man. I wonder how embarassed I would be if I knew I miscarried because I wanted to buy stuff on black Friday. the shame :( I guess it always is that way though for people who get hurt or die while doing something that they thought makes them happy... like...people who get hurt on rollercoasters.... people who get hurt on skiing accidents... I'm so paranoid of bad things happening that i always think things like that. "what if I died going to visit my friend, how stupid and what a waste of my life if I just wanted to go play and died" so news like this is bad for me to hear about because it gives me something to point out and say "See!! It can happen!! So I don't want to leave my house!!" :p

  6. It's so sad. I understand we all love a good deal but at the expense of anothers life. I honestly hope everyone who ran into that store like an idiot feels bad and takes responsibility for the pain and sadness they have caused that poor persons family.

  8. This year I had to work Friday for the first time in 4 years... but the last time I shopped Black Friday was 5 years ago. I do not like aggressive crowds.

I like to get a good deal just like the next person, but getting a deal at the sake of a person's life and another's baby.... NO WAY!! I would not want that on my conscience.

I hope they are able to identify the people who are responsible for this senseless act!
