How Does Your Garden Grow?

My garden is doing great, just seems like it is growing sooooooo slow. Maybe it's just me being impatient for those fresh veggies. Fresh salads, fresh salsa's, fresh green beans!

I've been looking through my cookbook collection for new recipes to try when my veggies are ready.

I will be posting some of them to try out on our bountiful veggies at this time year.

This is from "The Fannie Farmer Cookbook".

Cucumber Cream
More a relish than a proper sauce, this is lovely and fresh-tasting with fish.
1 cucumber 2 Tblspn vinegar
1/2 cup sour cream Salt to taste
Peel and finely chop the cucumber. Pat dry of excess liquid, put in a bowl, and stir in the sour cream, vinegar, and salt.

Now I think this sounds like a delicious dip to spread on ritz crackers! I cant wait to try it.

  1. Oh how I wish I had all that space for my garden.. I'd plant every veggie possible so I would have fresh produce all summer long.

  3. Sounds delish. Waiting on the garden to grow does require patience. I have begun to feel myself getting antsy as well waiting on my tomatoes.

I've shared pictures of my flower garden today. Please stop by and check them out.

Also, consider joining the Blogger Book Club. The book can be accessed free on-line and there is not obligation to stick around for the whole book. I know that sometimes life gets busy. Read more about it at my blog

  4. sounds like tsatziki sauce without the mint, and with sour cream intead of greek yogurt. If you ever have lamb, i'm sure this sauce would go heavenly with it. I have a recipe for tsatziki sauce on my blog if you want to see the similarity.
